Following the success of 2009 when 3 containers were sent to Cambodian Orphanages,
SIR Move Services together with Ni-Night is organising another island-wide donation of
gently used and new items that are needed by the following orphanages and a mobile maternity clinic.
Sunrise Children’s Village (www.sunrisechildrensvillage.org) are two orphanages located in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap and were created in 1993, following a visit by Geraldine Cox. The orphanages care for hundreds of orphaned or disadvantaged Cambodian children.
Mary Knoll is a Catholic Organisation who work with the poor and disadvantaged. Their programmes include orphanages for AIDS children and providing assistance for families affected by AIDS in the form of medical care, clothing and paying of school fees for the children of these
families.
New Hope for Cambodian Children (NHCC)(www.newhopeforcambodianchildren.com) was founded in 2006 and its’ mission is to collaborate with the Royal Government of Cambodia and Non-Governmental Organisations in order to assist Cambodian children living with HIV/AIDS, and their affected families.
Norwegian Association for Private Initiative in Cambodia (NAPIC), established a free maternity clinic for the poor in 2005. They deliver around 2000 babies a year. A team of midwifes and nurses are visiting 20 surrounding villages every month to examine pregnant women, giving tetanus vaccinations, iron and vitamins, educate villagers in health care and child care and provides food for the poorest families.
